Unlike traditional metadata that can be easily stripped away, SynthID embeds an invisible signature directly into the data itself (steganography). This means the watermark is woven into the pixels of a video or the specific probability patterns of text generation, making it incredibly resilient to tampering.
The system handles diverse media types through specialized technical approaches. For text, it subtly adjusts how a model chooses its next word—a method known as probability-based watermarking—without degrading the quality of the response.
